To celebrate 80 years, ROXY MUSIC SHOP is excited to announce a guitar competition, along with the help of Arts in the Park! If you or someone you know would like to audition, call Roxy Music at 219-362-2340!
Contest Info:
This is a guitar playing contest. NO SINGING! You can play either acoustic or electric guitar.
- There will be two divisions; Youth (17 and under on May 1st) and Adult (18 and over)
- Youth grand prize is a $500 Roxy Music Gift Certificate OR $250 cash
- Adult grand prize is a $1000 Roxy Music Gift Certificate OR $500 cash
Schedule your audition by calling (219-362-2340) or coming into Roxy Music (1012 Lincolnway in Downtown La Porte)
- Prepare your best solo piece (no longer than three (3) minutes)
- Auditions will take place in Roxy and will be filmed and uploaded here to the contest page.
- Judges will select 8 finalists from each division ($1 votes on contestants performance on the “guitar madness” page will determine the decision), vote as many times as you want by donating a dollar for your contestant, or do multiple quantities, 50 $1 votes!
- Finalists will then perform at one of the Arts in the Park concerts this summer.
- Winners will be selected by Voter’s Donations. $1/vote (all proceeds go to “Arts in the Park”).
- Voter’s Donations can be made at any Arts in the Park concert or online at Roxymusic.com.
