Fender Player II Series

The creation of Stratocasters and Telecasters changed the guitar world. Almost every guitar player starts on a Strat. Players who love Stratocasters often check out the Player Series. The Player Series is one of Fenders most popular guitars. Yet, during the covid era demand for all guitars were so high that the made in Player Series Strat was $1,000 to start. This made the product inaccessible to a lot of players. And, the guitars didn't have the quality expected from spending $1,000. However, Fender has realized the market has shifted away from the craze of Covid buying. This means Players need quality guitars at a reasonable price.

Pricing and Neck

Fender has made that guitar. Introducing, the Player II Series. This Series is changing the game. To Start, Fender has brought the price back down to an average of $799.99 while the humbucker Strats are $929.99. This is a great price for the quality of guitar that you are getting now. The quality on these guitars increased substantially. Fender has added Major updates to the Neck and Bridge as well as creating a comfortable feel for players. The guitar necks now have rolled fingerboard edges which allows smooth playing all the way up and down the neck. The Guitar necks feature a modern “C” shape that gets narrower the further up the fretboard that it goes. This gives the player extreme comfort while they are playing tasty licks and riffs.

Fender has returned to Rosewood Fingerboards on the Player guitars. This is fantastic news. The Rosewood fingerboard is a classic wood for Fingerboards. It looks great and feels great. They were using Pau Ferro on the Player I series. Pau Ferro is a wood that feels uncomfortable, sounds mediocre, and cracks easily. Rosewood is a far superior wood and allows the Player II guitars to shine!

Hardware

The Tuners that come with the Player II are ClassicGear Tuners. The ClassicGear Tuners have a vintage style with modern gears. This makes sure that the guitars stay in tune with an old fashioned look. Fender also added other Vintage style parts to the guitar. The knobs come in a Vintage White color to add to the old timey feel. Fender also used colors to keep adding to that great Vintage feel but more on that later. The Teles have six saddle bridges. Normally, Telecasters come with 3 saddles. This change allows the user to customize the string height, intonation, and radius on every string! Meanwhile, the Strats have upgraded Chrome parts that show off the quality of the guitar. The pickups in these guitars are the same pickups in the Player I series. The single-coil pickups are Alnico 5 pickups and the Humbuckers are Alnico 2 Pickups.

Colors

The colors of these guitars are beautiful. Linked below are the Player II guitars available at Roxy so you can check them out yourself. The colors model classic car colors which highlights the vintage look discussed earlier. The new colors are Aquatone Blue, Coral Red, Birch Green and Hialeah Yellow. They also have classic colors like Black, Three Tone Sunburst, Butterscotch Blonde and more!

Available Types

The Player II guitars have many different type options. They have made Player II Teles, Strats, Jazzmasters, Mustangs and Jaguars! The Strats come in standard SSS (Single, Single, Single) as well as HSS (Humbucker, Single, Single) Pickup Configurations. The Telecasters come in HH or SS pickup configurations. The Jazzmasters use P90 pickups while the Mustangs and Jaguars come with Single-Coils.  They also have Precision Basses, Jazz Basses, and Mustang Basses. The Mustang Basses come in Precision Jazz Pickup Configuration. The Precision and Jazz Basses are standard Pickup Configurations for those styles.

Conclusion

The player II series has brought back the quality of Mexican guitars. This allows the average player to get a fantastic guitar at a price most people can afford. This means that these guitars are cheaper and better than the original player series. Check out the Player IIs linked below to find your next guitar today.
