Jaco Pastorius

Jaco Pastorius is one of the most influential bassists of all time. He redefined Jazz Bass on Pat Metheny's Bright Size Life when he brought a fretless electric bass to record a jazz album.  Bright Size Life is one of the most praised Jazz Albums by guitarists and bassists to this day. Jaco then joined up with the jazz fusion band weather report the year Bright Size Life released, and he became an official member of Weather Report during the release of the acclaimed album Heavy Weather in 1977. These releases and his other acclaimed work helped him become of the most influential bass players in history.
