Caleb Matz grew up in a household of musicians and has been playing drums since he was old enough to hold a pair of drumsticks. He has been the drummer with LPHS Jazz band since 2016. Caleb has been selected every year since 2019 to play for the Indiana Jazz Educators Association, Northern Redemption Th District Jazz Ensemble. He has also received Outstanding Orchestra He has played drums with his church worship band since 2012 and Outstanding March church worship band since 2012. He has also played at LaPorte Fellowship Fest, LaPorte Sunflower Fair, and the LaPorte County Fair. Caleb has studied drum skills in many genres. He also plays bass guitar and string bass. Caleb teaches drums, including Rudiments, and bass guitar to students beginning at age 7 for drums, and age 8 for bass guitar.
